Hey Friends!!,
Thanksgiving is my favorite... and it feels so authentic to me, as if this holiday IS as constant as the sun rising, but good Lord how would we cook all this stuff everyday??-- however, I digress-- it feels so natural to celebrate love, to give thanks for the many gifts we have and take a day to realize all that we have been blessed with. I can easily get too focused on what I don't have or what I seem to struggle with... But look at me: I have a job, a safe place to live, two ridiculous and entertaining kitties, a boyfriend, a mama, a family living close by, dear friends near and far, a car, running water, electricity, talents, and the greatest gift of all-- Mercy and Grace. And all the people said Amen.
So Thank you... and God Bless you.
But also, I've changed distribution servers, so these emails won't be as fancy as the ones I used to send, but I hope that doesn't dissuade your support. I'm excited to say that I'm about to start recording a new record-- this time not a solo one, but one as part of The Dawn Key Shotguns. I've written more the last year working on this project with Brodie Porterfield than I have in any previous year, so we're both very excited to put these ephemeral ideas of ours into a form that can persist. We're hoping to cover all the studio costs and maybe lean on our fans for the manufacturing part, so I guess I'm warning you that I may be pestering you a bit more than usual in the next year or so. That's part of the Giving...
The other part of the Giving is that I'm practically overwhelmed even just thinking of all the people I personally know that need help (SC floods, Western droughts and fires, TX floods, medical expenses, etc.), and of course, there's all the people that I don't personally know that need help-- from the homeless veteran to the Syrian refugee. I would just like to encourage you to listen to the pull on your heart, whoever it may be for, and give EXTRAVAGANTLY to that. Unless it is the Donald Trump campaign. Just kidding. (Not really kidding.)
So anywho, here's the skinny on the 2 things I have scheduled this week. I'll be playing out less and less as I concentrate my time in the studio, so I hope you'll come out!!
I guess this was a little on the long side, but I hope you forgive me. Please feel free to reply and say hello, but either way, know that I am thankful for all the warm support you send my way. YOU are, also, one of my blessings!

 | The Dawn Key Shotguns will be out at Irmo Farmer's Market on Saturday 12/5 from 11:00am-1:00pm supporting some amazing people and some fun, interesting vendors in their Christmas Market. I have it on good authority that Mr. Santa Claus will be there, so bundle up the kiddos and bring your shopping list! | |
 | The Dawn Key Shotguns will also be at the best Christmas kick-off event on the planet at the annual 'Christmas at Red Bank' on Sunday 12/6 at 6:30pm (known affectionately as CARB). CARB, now in its 10th year, has a free admission and showcases local and regional musicians playing traditional and not-so-traditional songs of the Christmas season, with proceeds from an offering collected going to Lexington Interfaith Community Services. If you've never gone, it's one of those 'you'll regret it if you miss it' kind of things. |
